SAT Dates and Deadlines: 2025
If you’re planning to take the SAT in 2025, there’s good news! The College Board has added one more test date in September, giving students a total of eight opportunities to take the SAT in a year. This change allows for greater flexibility in scheduling and preparation, ensuring students can take the test when they feel most ready.
Here’s a list of the confirmed SAT dates for 2025:
March 8, 2025
May 3, 2025
June 7, 2025
August 23, 2025
September 13, 2025 (Newly added date!)
October 4, 2025
November 8, 2025
December 6, 2025
Each date has a corresponding deadline, so make sure to check the official collegeboard page for that. Most registration deadlines are around two weeks before the test date (regular registration) or 10 days prior to the test (late registration).
When should you start SAT prep?
The best time to start SAT preparation depends on your current skill level and target score. Here’s a general timeline:
6+ months before the test: Ideal for students aiming for top scores or those needing fundamental skill improvement.
3-4 months before the test: Suitable for students who are comfortable with the content but need structured practice and strategy refinement.
1-2 months before the test: Best for last-minute test-takers looking for targeted practice and quick score improvements.
For students taking the SAT multiple times, starting early allows for better pacing and stress-free preparation.
